Feats of heroism are often seen on the news, firefighters running into burning buildings to save lives, police officers that risk their own life to keep others safe, and soldiers who run into battle to protect their comrades. But heroes also walk the halls of hospitals, possessing the patience of Job to care for those in need. Teachers are heroes, balancing the demands of the curriculum and the needs of their students. Faithful pastors and missionaries, even when their message isn’t popular, are heroes for standing up to share God’s message of love.
In the music video for hero of the day, Metallica’s Kirk Hammett and James Hetfield play a drug-addled youth who watches a TV, with every channel featuring a Metallica member. A western movie starring Hetfield and Newsted, a boxing match starring Hammett as the coach and Hetfield as the fighters are all shown before ending with the news anchorman.
